Disney Game Art 02

14 pixels wide and 21 pixes tall. Still looks like Donald.

This is ancient history. In the late 80’s I did three children’s game titles for Disney;
Goofy’s Railway Express, Mickey’s Runaway Zoo, and Donald’s Alphabet Chase.
Computer games were very limited in the size and amount of animation, the number of colors (EGA) and frames we could use. But we managed through it all and even got the pixels to co operate and look like Disney’s characters. I had to make the characters of Donald, Daisy, Uncle Scrooge, Mickey, and Pluto into small sprites…14 pixels wide and 21 pixels tall…and oh yeah, they have to be instantly recognizable.

I will add one other thing. There were no art tablets and scanners during this time. All this was done with a mouse and tracing off the screen. Drywipe markers on our monitors. Pixel by ever loving pixel.
